Blue Springs is a city located in Jackson County, Missouri.

Blue Springs’ history is tied to the migration of settlers on their westward journey. Pioneers found the area to be an ideal stopover due to the abundance of cool, clean water from a spring of the Little Blue River - hence the name Blue Springs. The presence of water and a need for pioneer supplies led to the construction of a grist mill and permanent settlement at the site of the City’s Burrus Old Mill Park, on Woods Chapel Road.

Blue Springs is a unique community where families, visitors and businesses share a special quality of life and an abundant spirit of community closeness and cooperation.

Local Celebrities (or should I say “celebrity”):

David Cook: Season 7 American Idol.

WHAT TO DO

Truthfully? Not much! But if you like the outdoors, you can relax in one of the many parks the town has to offer.

Adams Pointe Golf Course

Baumgardner Park

Blue Springs Park

Burrus Old Mill Park

Burrus Old Mill Skate Parks

Dog Park at Gregory O. Grounds Park

Franklin Smith School Park

Gregory O. Grounds Park

Hidden Valley Sports Complex

James Walker School Park

James Walker Skate Park

Keystone Park

Pink Hill Park

Rotary Park at Railroad Lake

Ward Park

Wilbur Young Park

Wood Chapel Park

You can also dine in one of its restaurants and shop around town.

The Dillingham-Lewis Museum

Blue Springs Lake: located 9 mi (15 km) from Kansas City. It is found in Flemming Park and is the only lake there with no restrictions on motor boats, so have fun!

Murray is a city in Salt Lake County, Utah, United States. It is part of the Salt Lake City, Utah Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 34,024 at the 2000 census. Its estimated population in 2004 was 46,558. Nearly all of the growth is due to an annexation of a portion of the Cottonwood West CDP. The City received its present name from the post office which officially changed its name from South Cottonwood Post Office to Murray Post Office in 1883 after the civil war general, Eli Murray. Eli Murray was a territorial governor of Utah from 1880 to 1886.

Famous residents

• David Archuleta, American Idol Season 7 winner is a resident of Murray, Utah.
• Britton Johnsen, NBA basketball player

Things to see

• Temple Square (Salt Lake city) is a beautifully landscaped 10-acre plot surrounded by granite walls in the heart of downtown Salt Lake City. The centerpiece is the six-spired Salt Lake Temple, which stands as the worldwide symbol of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Temples of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are not open to the public. Also located in Temple Square is the famous Tabernacle, home to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, the Assembly Hall (which offers free music concerts year round), the Beehive House (Brigham Young’s former home), and the Lion House.
• Murray City Park. Murray sports a grand park with skating rinks, numerous fields, aquatic center and more.
• Jordan River Parkway. The Jordan River Parkway is on the west end of town, providing parks, golf courses.
• Mount Olympus. Murray offers full on views of Mount Olympus in the Wasatch Front.
• UTA Trax. Trax runs through the eastern side of town, giving Murray residence easy access to downtown Salt Lake.

In general, not much to see in Murray, but if you are an Archuleta fan, you can always go visit his high school!
