Slightly north of the Shelter Cove area near to Port Royal Plantation (home to The Westin Resort Hilton Head Island) are the Singleton and Burkes Beach neighborhoods. Once only known for its rambling collection of beach bungalows and a wide, sleepy expanse of beach, these neighborhood have been transformed by spectacular multilevel beach homes suited for big families, small retreats or wedding parties. Nearby, and newly developed, Chaplin Park supplies beach access, sheltered picnic facilities, restrooms, soccer and baseball fields as well as basketball courts.
