Tips and hints for your Myrtle Beach vacation rental
- Do consider the North Myrtle Beach area. It's not as developed as Myrtle Beach proper, and the pace of life is somewhat less hectic
- Do ask how far your rental is from the beach access
- Do ask whether you need to cross a major road to reach the beach
- Before visiting the area, do get information from the North Myrtle Beach and the Myrtle Beach chamber of commerce
- Do consider going in the non-prime season, rates will be cheaper
- To save money, consider rental options with a kitchenette so that you can cook your own meals. Eating out is one of the major expense incurred on vacation.
- Renting a house with a pool? Do make sure to get the dimensions as photos can be misleading.
- September and October are great months for visiting Myrtle Beach. The water is still warm, the beach is less crowded, the rental rates are cheaper, and after Labor Day, there's much less traffic, and the lines at restaurants are much shorter.
- If you are flexible with your travel plans and can travel at the last minute, exploit the fact that vacation rentals are perishable, so do request a last minute discount.
- Renting a large home? Do consider a house with 2 dishwashers, and 2 washer/dryers.
- Remember, you have many options to consider for lodging, from condos, hotels, motels, RV/campgrounds to resorts and private homes. Use the web to compare prices between these options.
