Lake Tahoe Rental Tips
- Make your lodging reservations as early as you can. Lake Tahoe is a very popular skiing destination so it pays to book early.
- Reserve your ski lessons as soon as you know your vacation dates.
- Do ask about amenities when making reservations. Is there a hot tub available? Are there kids' facilities? Is there a kitchenette? Where will you do laundry?
- Do ask about the view from your room. Does it overlook a parking lot? The mountains? The Lake?
- How close is shopping and dining?
- Want on-slope accommodations? Again, book early. These will be more expensive but they are in very high demand.
- Travelling with children? Ask about children-friendly facilities and activities. Is there day care available?
- Want to have fun at the casinos? Book a rental near (or in) the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe
- Can you travel off-season? Or at least avoid the high season between December and March? Then you can save on your rental rates.
- Can you travel at the last minute? Take advantage of the fact that a room is a perishable item. Look for last-minute discounts from resorts.
- Do use the web to compare rental rates.
